HP LaserJet 4250 Troubleshooting Steps

1 Print multiple pages to see if the problem persists. If the random dots fade or disappear from the subsequent printout, no longer troubleshooting.

2 Press the “Power” button on the side of the HP Laserjet 4250 printer to turn it off. Unplug the power cord to prevent accidentally turn on the printer.

3 Open the top cover of the printer and pull out the toner cartridge. Check for damage that allows toner powder from the cartridge. If leaking toner appears, replace the cartridge with a new one. Place the cartridge on a flat surface when it passes inspection and protect it from the light by placing a sheet of paper on it.

4 Press the green plastic lever and clean the rollers with a dry microfiber cloth. Lower the lever and install the toner cartridge.

5 Plug the power cord back in and press the “Power” button to turn on the printer. Press the “Menu” button and select “Configure Device,” Print Quality “and” Clean Page Process. “Wait for the printer to produce a cleaning page.

6 Open any printer flaps or doors and remove the toner cartridge. Turn each roller with your hands and even remove small pieces of paper you find stuck in the HP LaserJet 4250.

7 Remove all paper from the input trays and make sure none of the paper is damaged. Remove any pages that are not the same size as the rest and align all sheets of paper.

8 Load the paper into the input trays and slide the media guides so that they touch the edges of the paper but not the paper’s kinking. Remove any leaves that sits on the inside of input trays above the line height.

9 Remove the paper stack from the input trays of the HP Laserjet 4250 and turn it over and rotate 180 degrees. Put the paper in the input trays with the realignment.

10 Replace the paper with paper designed for use in a laser printer.
